Handpicked Photos from the American Wilderness |
A new photo exhibit by the
Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History has recently been
published, named "Wilderness forever: 50 Years of Protecting America's
Wild Places." This exhibit contains images that were hand-picked to
capture the uncomparable beauty of America's wilderness.
This exhibit celebrates the success
of the Wilderness Act that was adopted in 1964 and, to this date, has
defended 109 million acres of American wilderness. Over 5,000
submissions were made, and only a few selected, bringing to life the
majesty of US mountains, tundra, forests and wildlife from all states.
You can find out more about this exhibit at the Smithsonian web site.
Don't forget to check out the winning photos at the end!
