|
2. Lemon, mint and honey. |
3. Lemon, rosmary and honey. |
4. Orange, cloves and honey. |
5. Clementine, cardamom and honey. |
How to make a syrup in jar?
(The demonstratin uses lemon, ginger and honey, but is equally true for all combinations).
Pick a glass jar of any size with a lid. Slice the lemon, scrape the ginger and prepare the honey.
|
How to make:
Put in the jar half of the spliced lemon, half of the scraped ginger and the honey, and mix well.
In 3-4 hours, the syrup will be ready
for use, after the honey pulls the juice out of the citrus fruit and
make the syrup more liquid. If you want something thicker, increase the
ration between the honey and the fruit (more honey).
We recommend keeping the jar covered
and put in cooling. You can add honey now and again to keep it full. It
should keep for at least 1-2 months, maybe even more, as honey is a
natural perservative.
|
It is recommended to take 1-2 spoons
of the syrup every few hours to calm the cold symptoms, especially those
in the throat like coughing or aches.
If it doesn't go down easy, just mix a full spoon in a glass of hot water or tea.
