How Raw Flour Can Make You Sick
I
am well aware that raw food is a dangerous thing, but I never knew that
these risks extend even to raw flour. I love to bake, and occasionally
when I’ve made a particularly yummy looking dough I’ve eaten some of the
leftovers to whet my appetite. I’ve even let my grandkids help me lick
clean the mixing bowl. But according to the latest warning from the FDA,
this is a serious mistake because raw flour (not the raw eggs) seems to
be responsible for a recent E. coli outbreak. If you are as surprised
as I was, you better read on.
