A Recipe for Frozen Yogurt Covered Blueberries |
If you want to treat yourself and
your loved ones to a cold, refreshing summer snack - then this next
recipe is just for you. It takes about 10 minutes to make, another hour
to freeze, and your delicious and healthy treat is ready. The recipe
combines the health benefits of Greek Yogurt with the sweetness and vitamin pack of blueberrys.
|
Here's what you'll need:
1 Container (6 oz/170g) of fresh blueberries.
1 container (6 oz/170g) non-fat blueberry Greek yogurt, you can also use honey, vanilla and strawberry flavors.
This is a course for two people, simply double the amounts if you want to make it for four or more.
|
Instructions:
Start
by washing your blueberries in cold water and lining baking sheet or
wax paper on a tray big enough for all of your blueberries.
Once
your tray is ready and the blueberries are washed, use a toothpick to
dip each blueberry into the Greek yogurt and swirl it around. When the
blueberry is nicely coated with yogurt place it on baking sheet, take
out the toothpick (use a second toothpick or a small fork) and keep on
going with the rest of the blueberries.
Take your tray and put it into the
freezer, let it sit there for at least an hour. After that you can
remove the frozen yogurt covered blueberries from the tray and put them
in a ziplock bag which won't take as much space in your freezer.
|
You now have a snack you'll never
feel bad about enjoying - a low calorie, fiber-filled treat that's full
of protein. You can serve it by itself or as a topping for simple cakes
and sorbets. Enjoy!
