Originally built on a swamp on the coast of Girona, Catalonia, Spain, Empuriabrava
was transformed into a touristic community in 1975. This gorgeous
aquatic town has more than 40km of canals and a summer population of
80,000 residents. The town also boasts the largest and busiest skydiving
center in Europe, offering skydivers an unparallel scene of beauty as
they plummet slowly come down from their initial jump. This is one of
the largest marinas in the world.
There is only one Venice, of course,
but if you're in the mood for something a little different, a modern
Venice, then Empuriabrava is a fantastic location to visit.
