These Photos Show Another Side of the 1950s.

Vivian Maier is a superb photographer who used to live in New York in the 1950s and 60s. During that time, she took thousands of photos documenting life in New York of that time and age. Unfortunately, her works were left unrecognized for their raw beauty until 2 years after her death, in 2011, when a collection of them was published. Her photos have a visceral honesty that somehow unmasks this period of time in a beautiful way.
